Where will you be working?

The Group Finance department works from the headquarters in Amsterdam and consists of several departments: Business Control, Financial Control & Reporting, Risk Management, Treasury and Accounting. Due to recent and expected future acquisitions, we want to further strengthen the Business Control department with a Business Controller. You will be part of a relatively small team where you will have a lot of responsibility and independence to contribute to a wide range of topics.


What will you be doing?

The business controller is in a central position in the organization to provide all parties involved with financial, strategic and operational analyses and insights. In addition, there is a supporting role in preparing management reports to the Board, Management, and shareholders. The main tasks consist of the following:

  • Supporting the multi-year and annual budget and monthly forecasting.
  • Making ad hoc (investment) analyses and supporting the realization of the business strategy through proactive steering on KPI's.
  • Initiating usable management information to support strategic choices.
  • Being a sparring partner for the organization.
  • Monthly analysis and explanation of reported figures by strategy & KPI's.
  • Monthly reports to the Board with analyses and insights.
  • Preparing, testing, and financially substantiating business cases.
  • Continuously improving operational processes and controls.

Job requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Completed a bachelor's degree in business economics at a university level
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in consulting
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to see the big picture
  • Proficiency in communication in both Dutch and English, both orally and in writing
  • Professional independence, proactivity, and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint, as well as an affinity for BI tools such as PowerBI
